Here you will find information on scholarships available to WHS students listed by due date

Links to additional scholarship search resources are provided at the bottom of the page

Follow ALL instructions on the application for submitting your completed application and supporting materials that are required.

If a scholarship has a pdf attached, download the pdf to your computer and save it. You will then be able to open that application and fill it out using your computer.

If your scholarship needs to be mailed, it is your responsibility to make sure it is postmarked by the due date. If it is to be emailed, it is your responsibility to make sure it is sent on time, late applications will not be reviewed.

If the scholarship you are applying for requires a copy of your transcript, please log into your Infinite Campus account. You will find a copy of your transcript under the documents tab, where it can be downloaded or printed.

If the scholarship you are applying for requires a certified transcript, you will need to fill out this Google Form. Mrs Full will take care of printing that transcript for you. Please allow a few days for your transcript to be printed.

Bellator Titans MC Scholarship

Applicant must be a high school senior in South Dakota planning to attend their first year of post secondary school in South Dakota. While top academic standing is not required, the committee seeks students who are hardworking and motivated to succeed and who demonstrate financial need.

The Bellator Titans Motorcycle Club is excited to announce the availability of a scholarship for students in need of financial assistance. Now in its eleventh year, this scholarship is open to high school seniors planning to attend any South Dakota post-secondary institution as a freshman.

First Bank & Trust Community Scholarship

Be a First Bank & Trust Checking and/or Savings account holder (account must be opened before the application deadline).
• Be enrolled full-time and attending an accredited post-secondary institution for the Fall 2025 semester.
• Have not previously received a First Bank & Trust scholarship.
• Employees and members of the Board of Directors or Advisory Board of Directors of First Bank & Trust, its affiliates, and the
immediate families (spouse, parents, siblings, and children, and each of their respective spouses regardless of where they live)
and persons living in the households of each of these individuals, whether related or not, are not eligible.

Going to college requires a lot of upfront expenses—all at once—but the benefits are worth the investment. If you’re enrolling in fall classes, we may be able to help. Details and qualifications for the scholarship are included on the application.

The Izaak Walton League Environmental Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who pursues environmental studies post high school. Environmental degrees include, but are not limited to: Biology, Horticulture, Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences, Forestry, Ecology, Environmental Studies, Soil Science, Botany, Range Science, and Park Management.

RC Technologies Scholarship

The applicant must be immediate family of a current cooperative patron of RC Technologies as of December 1, 2024 and has at least two months of RC Technologies service: Internet, TV and/or Voice Service.
• Applicant’s family must be a current patron of RC Technologies.
• The applicant, who is now eligible to apply for the scholarships, is a high school senior graduating in 2025 who must reside with a current patron.
• Applicant must be accepted as a full time student to a college, university or technical school for the upcoming academic semester.
• Applicant must submit a completed Scholarship Application with required documents postmarked by Monday, March 31, 2025.

RC Technologies, your local communications cooperative, is awarding 2 $500 scholarships to high school seniors graduating in 2025 to use toward a technical school, college, or university. High school seniors whose families or guardians are active RC Technologies subscribers are eligible.

Applicant must be a Catholic graduating senior who will attend a technical school, college, or university in the fall of their graduating year.

Court St Rita #534 of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas is offering this scholarship to a Catholic student who has participated in Catholic Church activities, shown leadership, and participated in community service to help them further their education.

Watertown Fastpitch Softball Scholarship

✓ Applicant must be a senior at Watertown High School or Great Plains Lutheran High School
✓ Applicant must have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher (attach transcripts)
✓ Applicant must have played fastpitch for a summer team or have played in the Watertown fall ball program

This scholarship has been established to award a fastpitch player who desires to continue her education after high school. The scholarship must be used at one of the following institutions: College, University, or Technical School. Scholarship will be paid directly to the school.

SDAPHCC Scholarship

Graduating high school seniors or non-traditional students seeking a career in the plumbing, heating, and cooling industry.

The purpose of the South Dakota Association of Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors (SDAPHCC) Educational Foundation scholarship is to help individuals prepare for careers in the plumbing, heating, and cooling industry. This scholarship is particularly intended for students enrolled in trade related training programs in the state of South Dakota.

Day County Coyote Hunt Scholarship

Applicants must be 19 years of age or younger. You must be a graduating senior from an accredited high school during the year of application. You must be an immediate family member of a current soldier or Veteran of the Armed Forces including the SD National Guard. This scholarship may also be granted to a family member of a SD National Guard soldier who is physically challenged as determined by the American Disabilities Act passed on July 25, 1990.

The Day County Coyote Hunt Scholarship Program has been established to award scholarships to immediate family (parent, step-parent, grand parent, sibling) of a current soldier or Veteran of the Armed Forces including SD National Guard & desire to further their education.

Donald H Quimby Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be graduating from a South Dakota high school and be accepted to a post-secondary institution.

Donald Quimby spent his professional life in service to others as a teacher, coach, and administrator. He believed that everyone should have the same opportunity at a higher education, regardless of GPA.

David W & Jan Hovey Johnson Scholarship Application

To apply for this scholarship the applicant must have applied to Mt Marty University, be a degree seeking student at Mt Marty University, maintain a GPA of at least 3.0, and enroll in at least 6 credit hours in both the fall and spring semesters of the 2025-2026 school year.

This scholarship is for a WHS senior who is planning to further their education at Mt Marty University - Watertown campus.

South Dakota Grand Commandery Knights Templar Scholarship

*Applicant must be a US citizen and a resident of South Dakota
*Must be planning to attend a technical college in South Dakota

The Grand Commandery Knights Templar of South Dakota will award several scholarships in the amount of $1,000 to South Dakota residents who plan to attend a state Technical College in South Dakota. Successful candidates are US citizens who will demonstrate financial need and the capability to complete the vocational training program they selected. Scholarships will be granted for one year but may be applied for each year for a maximum of three years.

Applicants must be a 2025 graduating high school senior who will attend an accredited South Dakota, North Dakota, or Minnesota college, university, vocational school, or community college on a full time basis.

In a continuing effort to retain our best and brightest students, American Bank & Trust provide a scholarship opportunity to local high school seniors. Seniors must submit an application in order to be considered for the scholarships.

Sanford Health Network Scholarship

• Affiliation with a participating Sanford Network facility. (employee, relative of an employee, community resident, patient, etc)
• Proof of Enrollment in a healthcare program (Letter of Acceptance)
• Unofficial Transcript (GPA must be 3.0 or higher to be considered)

Sanford Health is awarding muliple $2,000 scholarships to Healthcare Students.

South Dakota Telecommunications Association

1) A High School Diploma or GED equivalent;
2) Accepted into or attending a multi-year program degree at any accredited technical college or other accredited post-secondary higher education institution in South Dakota for the fall 2025 semester;
3) Majoring in a degree/program or field of study that is useful in the telecommunications or broadband industry or which significantly relies on the use of broadband services and related technologies (examples of majors eligible for this scholarship can be found at https://sdtaonline.com/sdta_scholarships.php); and
4) A customer/member or have a parent or legal guardian that is a customer/member of a SDTA member company. These include: Interstate Telecommunications (ITC), James Valley Telecommunications, RC Technologies, and Swiftel Communications
