The Watertown School District announces free breakfast and lunch for all students beginning October 1 and continuing through December or until federal funding runs out. Any enrolled student in K-12 is eligible for these meals. We have also changed our student close contact procedures. Beginning on October 5, if a student is masked, they would have the option of following the recommended 14-day close contact quarantine or choose to quarantine for 72 hours and come back to school masked, temp checked and socially distanced where permitted. School principals will notify you should this happen in your child's school. We are also changing the language with regards to masking from "highly recommended" to "expected." All students were given a mask to start the year, and we ask that you make sure your child has one with them each day. More details on the close contact procedures can be found at: https://core-docs.s3.amazonaws.com/documents/asset/uploaded_file/949702/Close_Contact_Student_Leave_Procedure.pdf. With this change, WHS will resume in-person classes on Mon. Oct. 5, and 7-12 activities will resume as well next week.
