I also wanted to remind you of the free lunches available for K-12 students at all 5 elementary schools and the intermediate school each day. The Governor has asked all schools to close until Friday, May 1. We will remain closed to students until that time and continue to work with students through online means as we have already started. More communication will follow about turning in work and other learning elated items. All activities until May 1 will be postponed until we know more information.

6th Grade #WISArrows had finished up their Taj Mahal artwork. Students learned the history behind the Taj Mahal. They also learned that it shows perfect symmetry, except for a room that was added later. Symmetry means the same on both sides. Students showed perfect symmetry on their own design of the Taj Mahal by using carbon copying. With carbon copying, we only had to draw half of the Taj Mahal and we folded the paper and pressed the pencil lead onto the other side to make a symmetrical copy. Lastly, students used mosaic tiles to create a symmetrical background.

#WISArrows 5th grade just finished up their one-point perspective aquariums in art. They learned that one-point perspective means the artwork only has one vanishing point. A vanishing point is where the parallel lines of a realistic area converge on the page to show depth.
