Thanks to the great work by Watertown Municipal Utilities, the water main has been fixed at Jefferson Elementary. We will have school on Tuesday, October 8th on schedule. Thank you very much for your help today with the early dismissal.

The Watertown School District is holding a school board election on Tuesday, June 18th in the Watertown Civic Arena. Polls will be open from 7 AM to 7 PM.

The Watertown School District is hosting an open house for the public to stop and see Roosevelt Elementary on Monday, May 20th from 5:30 - 7:00 PM. Please join us for a look around before the school year is out.

Jefferson Student Council
Next week our student council will be conducting a collection of coins called Coins of Compassion. We are asking students to bring in change, with your permission, for their class container. The money raised will be donated to a local charity decided by the Student Council. Please do not send paper money. Thank you

April is Autism Awareness month. We would like to start the month with Autism Global Awareness Day. We would like everyone to wear BLUE to school on April 2nd. More children are being identified with autism. Please read our newsletter for more resources to understand the world of autism.
Autism, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), refers to a broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication. According to the Centers for Disease Control, autism affects an estimated 1 in 36 children and 1 in 45 adults in the United States today.
