Health Resources

Social Emotional Learning

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) staff include counselors and school phycologists, as well as Project Success Coordinators through a partnership with Human Service Agency. Link to SEL details.

Attendance Support

Watertown School District received a grant to address student absences at school through a Three-Tiered Approach called “Attendance Matters”. It includes campaigns for attendance (Tier 1), more personalized outreach (Tier 2), and intensive intervention (Tier 3).

Family Support Specialists were hired as part of the $500,000 grant. Their work is personalized outreach and general support to students and their families. Most of their efforts focus on students at risk for chronic absenteeism. A student who is identified as chronically absent has missed 20% of school classroom time. However, general support is provided for all students in circumstances where a Family Support Specialist can assist in getting the student to the classroom. For example, general support was provided during the cold snap when a Specialist gave students a ride to school when their family’s car wouldn’t start.

Specialized Services

Our experts offer more than what you may traditionally think of when it comes to Special Services; including Junior Kindergarten, Alternative Elementary Program for Grades K-12, Title 1 Preschool, and Structured Learning Program that follows TEACCH® Autism Program principles.

The Transition Campus provides day program services to our students with a focus on community participation, recreation and leisure activities, post-secondary education, employment and training, and daily living skills. Link to Transition Campus Details
